State of Dis-Union

If we look back in history, in the industrial revolution, there were long hours and unsafe working conditions for laborers. Laborers formed unions to prevent the exploitation by employers. At the time, a reasonable work day and safer working conditions were obtained and the unions served their purpose.

In today's age, we have OSHA along with many other regulatory bodies intruding upon businesses. With their existence, the original purpose of unions no longer exists.

So why do we have them? What is the purpose of today's unions?

The unions of yesteryear have morphed into nothing more than legal organized mobs. If a film maker were making another Godfather movie, they could cast Andy Stern of the SEIU as the head of the family.

The unions' business model now includes activities such as utilizing methods of extortion, duress, and intimidation from both the employer and the employee, to obtain more money and power, and creating a barrier between the employer and the employees.

What is even worse than this, is the bribery of politicians to obtain their ultimate goal of having control of all employees in the nation, such as in a communist state. SEIU bought off Obama with campaign contributions, so that they could achieve their goal. While Obama pretends he is fighting for the working man, he is really paying the working man lip service, as he is in the pockets of the unions. REDSTATE has a great article on this.

"Obama wants us to believe he is waging a war against the very people he means to put in charge of the American working class, and the very people that bought and paid for his election victory, his Executive Orders that lay the groundwork for a Union takeover of the private-sector workforce, and his recess appointment of Craig Becker to the NLRB. Before you call me crazy, think EFCA, High Road contracting, and the frightening words of his newly recess-appointed NLRB member: “workers should not be able to choose against having a union as their monopoly-bargaining agent.”

Re-read that last sentence, “workers should not be able to choose against having a union as their monopoly-bargaining agent” and let it really sink in. If it doesn't send chills up your spine, then you aren't paying attention. Workers will not have freedom and rights to choose, and will become victims of a dictatorship.

How is this in the employee's best interest, which is what the unions pretend to serve?

There is nothing about today's unions that is uniting any one's interests but their own. In fact, is divisive. If the unions continue to gain power as is clear from Obama's agenda, we will become the state of dis-union all working in a dictatorship with no freedom at all.
